It was, and, I can't wait for the next one!!!! Heres a few others I took, you can see the cell moving closer somewhat Looking down to the valley and Greenwood base gets a taste.. Too many lights and "stuff" that way plus too far away. All these approaching from Lunenburg/Chester direction. I was in New Albany/Nictaux. An updated pic of the shot already posted and then this last one made me decide it was time to leave. There was about 4 in this and I think it rattled my teeth some it was that loud!! I have researched a new method for the next opportunity. Hopefully I can get multiple strikes in one shot. Until then a friend did this up quick in photoshop for me....

Quite a storm we had roll by the island this week. Actually it circled right above us for 12hrs until the tide turned. We had 7.5 inches of rain in 4 hrs and a mass of flooding and washouts. The lightning was terrific and I wish I hadn't been working and could have spent more time on it....first daytime lightning shots, alot trickier than the nighttime ones... At one point standing outside first thing in the morning a blast of chain lightning went right above me,the hair on one side of my head and one arm stood up!! I took cover for a bit after that. Here's a short video of the flooding during the storm... www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK5EsJ_Oyqk
