Well day 2 of the Highlands was an "experience" at best. Came across this in the morning and thought I was in for a treat. Scrambled down a rather steep hillside to get to water level, thats about the time I realized something wasn't quite right with the moose. It had a broken jaw and was having a pretty hard time of it. The pink you can see in its face is its tongue hanging out. I stayed and watched/took pics for a bit then left to get DNR to come and end it's suffering. Had I had my rifle with me I would have done it myself and suffered the consequences afterwards. By the time I had that done and returned the moose was dead. From DNR who recovered it later that morning from the river it had been "hit by a car." Day 3 saw me back up in the Highlands Park after a bad start to the day at daybreak....GRRRRRR I hiked in to a lake on a park trail,in the snow I could tell no people had been there in a while but a few moose had... Taking pics in dense woods is not that easy.... Getting this close to a couple moose including the biggest bull I have ever seen for real got the ticker pumping though. Wish I had a better pic of "him" for you but I did OK on her.... Her Him
