Thought I had this guy cornered out on the point here. Had a great sneak going on but... forgot one minor detail. Sitting on the mower in about the same spot today and an adult Eagle took the same path almost. It was low water again and oh boy, could have had aerials of an Eagle in flight. Nowhere to stow the cam on the tractor though

Great shots wolf! So this guy is tempting me I think. This is the second time I've nabbed him fishing right in this spot. It could be time to build me a blind or hang a stand in the tree behind him and sit just coming daylight. I'm facing the sun from this angle. Last time all he got was a stick, this time he's showin off and grabbed not one but TWO Shad. I'd love to know how fast they are going at impact...

Better Beamer... this tells about it better than I ever could... www.naturescapes.net/store/better-beamer-flash-extenders/pretty diffucult to get good with it consistantly.. at least for me but its really a great tool when you grasp it... seems a lot of serious bird/wildlife photographers swear by them. The lady that was the pro on the whale tour I was on was saying she is going to bring one next year for whales and it does make sense as the inside of their mouths are so huge they do create shadow issues which one of these would overcome. With a good flash I have heard you can get about 30 meters range out of one which is pretty impressive. I need to play with mine more...

I have seen similar setups on one of the birding forums, probably a dumb question but it changes the apparent intensity of the flash right? Do you adjust the flash exposure compensation to get the proper exposure?

yes on the adjusting.. I see it more as focusing the light into a narrower beem to extend its reach...
